Quintessentially British Tea Lounge launches at DUKES Dubai

Palm Jumeirah hotel offers traditional afternoon tea - the epitome of British hospitality

DUKES Dubai, the quintessentially British hotel on Palm Jumeirah, is welcoming guests in true UK style, and what could be more British than a lovely cup of tea, a round of cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, and scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam displayed impeccably on a high-tiered cake stand?

And let’s not forget the service, the pinnacle of a very civilized afternoon and the hallmark of British hospitality for over a century. The Tea Lounge has opened its doors on the third floor of the hotel, serving traditional afternoon tea as well as a flute of bubbles.

Carl Chapman, F&B Director, DUKES Dubai, said: “Visitors can indulge in a slice of one of the finest British traditions and enjoy the very best afternoon tea in Dubai in what is a beautiful and contemporary setting, boasting an elegant ambiance.”

The lounge opens its doors every day with the offer of a Duchess Breakfast for ladies only in a private area, from 6.30am to 11 am. There is also a full continental-style buffet breakfast available in a separate area, with fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, cold cuts, fresh juices, and smoothies. Traditional afternoon tea is served with finger sandwiches, assorted pastries and freshly baked scones with preserves. Tea is courtesy of international designer tea brand Tchaba, with a gourmet selection of loose leaf teas.

Visitors can also choose to add a little sparkle to their day and enjoy bubbles and cocktails during their tea or later in the eveningThe Tea Lounge can accommodate up to 80 people, with a private area for up to 25 people and terrace seating, looking out over the stunning Jumeirah Beach Residence skyline.

Chapman said: “The Tea Lounge combines the traditional afternoon tea in very stylish and modern surrounds with bright pinks, oranges, and greens, sculptural gold metalwork chairs and light, bright interiors. The tranquil setting is the world away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is a perfect place to sit back, relax and unwind.”

Rounding off the experience, the chinaware has been custom designed for the Tea Lounge by renowned British brand William Edwards.

The Tea Lounge is open from midday until 11 pm, with Afternoon Tea Service from midday until 6 pm. Guests can choose The London Tea option - served with a choice of tea from the sommelier’s trolley, for AED170; or The Palm Tea option - served with a glass of Taittinger Brut NV, for AED320.

Paul Marciano and Al-Futtaim Celebrate GUESS’ 35 Year Anniversary with Spectacular Evening in Dubai, UAE.

Dubai, UAE, March 15th, 2017: Paul Marciano, GUESS co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, visited Dubai, UAE yesterday to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic denim brand, GUESS, alongside prestigious distributor and partner, Al-Futtaim. The celebrations were held at an exclusive event at the W Hotel, where Paul was joined by Al-Futtaim teams, as well as key fashion industry leaders from the region.

The spectacular event kicked off with a catwalk showcase unveiling GUESS’ Spring-Summer 2017 collection, featuring carefree feminine wear and tropical men’s details. The catwalk brought to life the true essence of the brand, with romantic silhouettes, colorful Caribbean patterns and GUESS’ iconic denim pieces. The GUESS anniversary celebrations continued with an exciting set by DJ Lins and exclusive displays of the new collection pieces, including the limited-edition Originals 1981 anniversary capsule collection, and previews of the GUESS campaign videos.

O concept store collaborated with Dubai Design Week to showcase the most enticing concept that left the onlookers awestruck. In collaboration with Dubai Design Week, this year’s collaboration was a marvelous fusion between FASHION, DESIGN & ART in an unexpected and unique perspective was presented all under one roof with beautiful pieces from popular personalities like Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino.
This year the audience witnessed a creative show that blended three exquisite décor art work by creative interior designers with exotic fashionable pieces by fashion designers who have made their mark in the industry.

Zaid Farouki’s exquisite handmade pieces that abide by couture techniques, embroidery, and finishing was wonderfully complimented by the unique emotion rich exquisite decor piece by Bykal.  

AAVVA with its mixture of Lebanese Fashion meeting a Brazilian Touch perfectly complimented the self-defining piece of art that is Arc. This resulted in one of the most sparkling and glamorous debut of the evening.

NN couture with its vibrant blend of east meets west using traditional Arabic garments made a wonderful remark on the audience by brilliantly complimenting the bold yet non- conventional exquisite décor by Khashab.

The magnificent collection of Jeremy Scott was exclusively showcased at O concept store. The vastly talked about collection was definitely the highlight of the evening garnering eyeballs and excitement from everyone in the room.

The event also witnessed the exclusive launch of Toby Femme collection for ladies 'Paon'. Toby by Hatem Alakeel is the embodiment of when the beloved traditional meets the modern contemporary in perfect harmony. The collection palette is predominately pastels, with baby blue, pink, mustard and beige; reflecting a progressive approach to Khaleeji styling.

This event wouldn’t have been a success without the help of our wonderful sponsors – Beauty Connection spa, Enjoy A T-shirts, Sweet Tooth delectable and Ms. Linda Khalifa of “Art of Beauty” fame. The wonderful interior design of O concept store which was designed by 'Pam Oushal' added that sophisticated glam touch to the event as always.
All the fabulous fashion designs and exquisite furniture pieces exhibited at the store is available for sale at the store for a month from release.
